We like to throw a party. Great music. Memorable cocktails. Tasty bites. That's our thing. Leave of Absence is available for a variety of private and semi-private functions, from networking events to wedding festivities and anything in between.

Semi-private dining is available for groups of 12 to 30 guests, with full buyout options accommodating up to 58 seated or 120 for a reception-style event.

FAQs

Q: If I eat at Leave of Absence, will I be able to access the pool?

A: No, dining reservations do not also allow pool access. Pool access for non-hotel guests requires a pool pass that can be purchased through ResortPass. This allows access to the pool during Leave of Absence's hours of operation, but is always dependent on the pool area capacity and is handled on a first come first served basis.

Q: Do I have to make a dining reservation to access the pool?

A: No, pool only reservations for non-hotel guests can be made via ResortPass and are valid during Leave of Absence's hours of operation.

Q: I’m staying at Alma San Diego, do I need a guest pass?

A: All hotel guests have full access to the pool during its operating hours of 9am-9pm daily (weather permitting). The pool can be accessed using your room key.

Q: I’m staying at Alma San Diego, can I invite guests to join us at the pool?

A: Hotel guests may invite visitors; however, any non-registered guests without a reservation must purchase a ResortPass Day Pass to access the pool.  

Q: Do I have to make a reservation for Leave of Absence? 

A: Dining reservations are not required for Leave of Absence. For pool only access, passes can be obtained via ResortPass.

Q: What is the age limit?

A: All non-hotel guests under 21 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.  Some of our ticketed party events are 21+ only.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Pets are not allowed on the 4th floor pool deck or at Leave of Absence, however service animals are permitted.

Q: Is there a dress code?

A: Casual attire or bathing suits with a cover up may be worn to Leave of Absence.

Q: Do you offer parking?

A: Valet parking is available on site for a fee.

Q: Do you have lockers?

A: Not at this time.

Q: Do you book pool parties?

A: Yes, Leave of Absence hosts a variety of pool parties and events.
